Honda Gresini Le Mans Preview

Alvaro Bautista Estoril 2012

Following the successful Grand Prix of Portugal at Estoril Team San Carlo Honda Gresini wants to take a further step forward over the weekend at Le Mans. On MotoGP class, Alvaro Bautista still want to find a better feeling with his Honda RC213V and aim to get close to the couple Dovizioso and Crutchlow and fight for fourth place and also the podium.

Michele Pirro (CRT), after having hit the first goal of the season getting his first points on Estoril, begins a new phase of research to improve the performance of the track with Honda FTR.

It hasn't been an easy decision to take but Team Gresini have opted to switch to a Suter chassis for their Moto2 project for the remainder of this season, starting this weekend at Le Mans. The French Grand Prix will be more like a test for Rattapark Wilairot and Gino Rea. Niccolo Antonelli, the youngest rider of the MotoGP (Moto3 class), will seek to further improve the bike set-up to give their best.

Fausto Gresini told, “We have taken the decision to switch to Suter because our objective is always to improve and give our riders the opportunity to perform to their maximum potential. It wasn't an easy decision but it was one we had to take.

He continue, "This year we hope that the tradition is renewed and favorable to allow Alvaro take a further step forward, in order to fight like Dovizioso and Crutchlow. For the CRT, the two points obtained from Michele Pirro at Estoril were a panacea, and made us understand that the first phase dealt with many difficulties ended and will now start the real development of our bike.
